Joyce's View
This week my subject view is about the "Senior" and the economy. We have many seniors who has paid into our government system that has kept our country afloat for many years, however when their time come to benefit from their investments it has became a grave hardship to receive them. The United States of America has combined the care for the senior with the care of others therefore the number ratio look good on paper; however in actual numbers the average senior is struggle.
Let us take a look at several issues: (1) Medical is at a all time high and the sadden issue is whenever a senior do receive a small raise on their monthly income, then it is immediately taken away by medicare or medicaid. (2) Food also is ever increasing and the average senior receive $10.00 to $30.00 per month in assistance. Now let us consider today the medical profession is requiring individuals to eat more natural foods such as fresh green and red vegetables to become healthier and live longer.
Now if we may look at the fact their is other group of people, I grant they may need also who is in this great system of support. The issue I have is this group of people has made this system a way of life and many has not invested and had no plans of investing. I personally think it is time our government re-evaluate a program that was set in place after the fall of the stock market from 1929.
I am not stating do away with assistance for families that need help, but take a closer look at the ordinance and statues that may need changing or re-vamping for the society of life today. Certainly let us give our senior better care and assistance in the spectrum of it.
This is my view, would be interested in hearing yours!
